Thanks for visiting my blog. Here you will find rants and raves; news and reviews about anything from politics to plumbers, cultural issues to kid issues — and everything else that comes up in a day of my life in Hong Kong.

I came to HK pre-handover, with my husband and baby with the goal of returning to Canada after two years with a bulging bank account. Now 11 years and two more kids later, we are firmly rooted in Asia’s World City, and living beyond our means.
After working in corporate PR and editing local mags, I went back to university to complete my Master’s Degree in Journalism, I am now attempting the impossible task of finding a job that is both financially rewarding and mentally stimulating.
To find a job that is financially sound & interesting is as difficult as to find a man who is charming and loyal.
This is a fun read. I’ve finally found a blog that is worth the time. There are too few of these around.
Jonathan.
Nice blog. Please keep it up.

Hello,
I found your blog today and after reading it for a while, I noticed I was reading your last year’s blogs. So I refocused my eyes and saw you haven’t blogged in 2008 yet. I must say, every now and then I search for HKG blogs to keep me informed and updated about HKG. (I am from HKG but nowadays I am Chinese/Dutch/English… and live far, far away) And I like blogs because they give me a more personal view on topics and issues and such.
Now, after reading only a few of your posts, I would like to tell you, yours is one of the few (HKG blogs) who writes interesting articles/blogs/opinions and I wondered if you stopped posting for a while.
All the best,
Kahing
Thanks Kahing
It’s true, I’ve been neglecting my blog despite the many interesting topics that have sprung up recently. This is mainly due to the fact that I have been traveling back and forth to London and have been pre-occupied. However your comment has inspired me – expect a new post this weekend.
